Griffin Art Projects presents Per Diem Part II: The Gerd Metzdorff Collection from May 27 to August 27, 2023. Curated by Lisa Baldissera, this show marks a continuation of Griffin’s 2022 exhibition of the late Gerd Metzdorff’s (1948-2020) extensive art collection. As a flight attendant, he built his collection by saving his per diems and using them to buy art. Over 60 works will be on display, with highlight pieces by Ken Lum, Sigmar Polke, Lynda Benglis and Gathie Falk.

“Building on the success of last year’s exhibition, we are thrilled to bring more of Gerd Metzdorff’s world-class collection to the public this spring,” says Baldissera. “Equal to last year, Metzdorff’s collection represents a vibrant scope and range. This year’s show focuses primarily on painting, and also features selected sculpture and printmaking. Some of these works have never been shown or many have not been presented recently, so visitors will make some very exciting discoveries!”
