Join us at the Gallery for a free artist talk by Nuu-Chah-Nulth artist Hjalmer Wenstob.

Hjalmer is one of the contemporary artists featured in our GEORGE CLUTESI: ḥašaḥʔap / ʔaapḥii / ʕc̓ik / ḥaaʔaksuqƛ / ʔiiḥmisʔap exhibition, and will be speaking to his practice as a carver and sculptor.

Hjalmer is an interdisciplinary artist who specializes in sculpture and carving. He has a master’s degree in visual arts from the University of Victoria, exploring the relationships between cultures and art, and the balance between traditional and contemporary.
