Equally charming and chaotic, this show wholly captures modern dating.
“Are you waiting for someone? Dumb question. Of course you’re waiting for someone.” Unabashed, cynical and just a bit stuck, Jill navigates a new relationship with Ben in her late twenties. She’s surrounded by her failed relationships – literally. The emotional baggage of her exes exists in her apartment and the personified bags weigh in on her every move. Baggage explores what it’s like to be haunted by heartbreak and your past.
“At first glance, Baggage is a hilarious, millennial and feminist tale I’ve often likened to Phoebe Waller Bridge’s Fleabag,” shared Director Jessie Liang. “Between the burnouts and the f*ckboys, we get sucker-punched by Jill’s unresolved trauma and her hopeful quest for love. Sarah Segal-Lazar has gifted us with a surreal, brutally funny, true ensemble piece perfectly fit for Studio 58 today.”
