We are delighted to announce Made by Women, an exhibition that celebrates the power and beauty of artwork made by First Nation women artists from the Pacific Northwest. It is a celebration of female perspectives and creative vision, highlighting that this work is the foundation of cultural heritage in Indigenous communities.
This exhibition features a selection of female Indigenous artists working today, both well-established artists, mid-career and emerging artists and represents a diverse range of styles, mediums, and techniques. While this exhibition encompasses a small cross section of the many First Nation women working today, it is a tribute to the vital role of women in Indigenous cultures and a celebration of the beauty and power of their artistic expression.
We are thrilled to present art works by Jane Kwatleematt Marston, Cori Savard, Alison Bremner, Krystle Silverfox, Morgan Asoyuf, Dale Campbell, Shoshannah Greene, Heather Dickson, Kaylyn Baker, Joslyn Williams, Virginia Morgan, Alyson Bell and others.
We applaud these and the many other incredibly talented women artists working today and know that we have only begun to see the important power and beauty they bring to the art world.
All works will be available for purchase at 10am, Saturday, July 8th.
Join us in the afternoon for an opening reception from 2 – 4pm.
