Captivating art often holds an element of mystery–and North Van Arts’ annual fundraiser The Anonymous Art Show gives you the chance to take an artistic leap and embrace the magic of the unknown in support of Vancouver’s North Shore arts community.
Over 680 works will be available to view online or in the gallery the week before sales are open, so you can get a sneak peek at the original creations from emerging and established artists that could be coming home with you.
From November 23 – December 19, 2023 you can snag an original 8” by 8” piece of “anonymous” art (meaning you won’t know the artist), supporting both the artist and raising funds for North Van Arts as part of the show.
How it works
Pick your favourite at the preview
This is a one-of-a-kind group exhibition and fundraising event, where the artist is only revealed after their work has sold. Buyers can preview the artwork in person at the gallery at the CityScape Community ArtSpace or online from November 18 – 22, 2023.
Buy online
When an artwork catches your eye, you’ll have the chance to purchase it during the online sale, starting Thursday, November 23 at 7 pm.
All artworks are sold for $100, making this your chance to build your collection in an affordable way, support artists, and fundraise for North Van Arts. Sales close Tuesday, December 19 at 5 pm.
How your participation helps
Part of the fun of the Anonymous Art Show is that with each artwork you buy you’re supporting both a local artist and a charitable organization. Each piece is priced at $100, with $50 going directly to the artist who created the work, and $50 to North Van Arts.
This helps support North Van Arts’ programming year-round, including:
- Arts education for children, youth, and adults
- Exhibitions highlighting the work of local emerging and established artists at three North Vancouver locations
- A music therapy programme for youth
- Beloved events such as the North Shore Art Crawl and Arts in the Garden
- A regional arts & culture hub, the North Shore Culture Compass
