Now in its twelfth year, the annual North Shore Art Crawl returns in-person to galleries, community centers, business and art schools from Lions Bay to Deep Cove on October 14th to 16th.
Art lovers can celebrate all weekend with free access to 150 local artists across 88 locations, where crawlers can peek behind the curtain at the practices and passions that drive each artist’s work. A variety of mediums will be on full display, including textiles, jewelry, pottery, graphic design, sculpture, painting, glass and photography.
Offering a chance to do more than just observe, some artists will be hosting interactive activities where visitors can immerse themselves in the creative process. Potter Estelle Liebenberg will share her pottery-making techniques, while painter Wanda Doyle will invite visitors to make acrylic paintings on card stock. At True Colour Gallery’s Digital Art Lab, a class in 3D Modeling and Printing will be offered, and Stages of Creativity will hold a tile painting workshop for artists of all ages and skill levels.
Event guides are available now in community hubs across Vancouver’s North Shore or you can visit northvansrts.ca/north-shore-art-crawl, where you can plan your weekend with full artist profiles, dates and times, plus a list of bikeable and walkable routes that will take you to a number of artists and galleries.
