It’s been 25 years since Barbara Bourget and Jay Hirabayashi launched the Festival with a commitment to inclusivity and a nod to their own eclectic interests, and it’s a milestone worth celebrating. The Vancouver International Dance Festival 2025 returns March 5 -15 at various venues throughout Vancouver.
Starting last year, Deanna Peters and Victor Tran took the reins, bringing the same grassroots DIY ethos that celebrates diverse forms of dance, and they continue to program boundary-pushing dance.
This year, that diversity showcases artists from right here in BC and from as far away as New Zealand, South Africa and Brazil. Eighteen artists and companies compromise three unique shows a day, including street and contemporary dance, live music, and interdisciplinary works.
Tickets are on sale now and offer a variety of ways to take in shows. The Festival offers sliding scale prices, asking only that you pay what you can afford to ensure everyone can access art. In addition, when you pay full price for a single show, you purchase a ticket for someone who can’t afford a ticket.
Single Tickets are $25–$60.
A Festival Pass is $300 and lets you see all 18 shows.
A 4-Show Pass (any 4) is $100.
A Day Pass is $75 gets you to 2 Roundhouse shows and 1 Annex show on the same day (on eligible dates).
The Lovers Pass is $100 and is good for 2 people at any 2 shows
